Sikh Gurdwaras (Supplementary) Act, 1925

The Sikh Gurdwaras (Supplementary) Act, 1925 [Act No. 24 of 1925] [Received the assent of the Governor-General on the 11th September, 1925.] An Act to supplement certain provisions of the Sikh Gurdwaras Act, 1925. WHEREAS it is expedient to supplement, by legislation in the Indian Legislature, certain provisions of the Sikh Gurdwaras Act, 1925, for the purposes hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted as follows:-
SECTION 2

Short title and commence

The Sikh Gurdwaras (Supplementary) Act, 1925 1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Sikh Gurdwaras (Supplementary-) Act, 1925. (2) It shall come into force on the date1 appointed by the 2 [ 3 (State Government)], under sub-section (3) of section 1 of the Sikh Gurdwaras Act, 1925. 1. It came into force on the 1st January, 1926. 2. Substituted for the words "Local Government" by the Government of India (Adaptation of Indian Laws) Order, 1937. 3. Substituted for the word "Provincial" by Adaptation of Laws Order, 1950.
SECTION 3

Validation of certain provisions of Punjab Act 8 of 1925

The Sikh Gurdwaras (Supplementary) Act, 1925 2. Validation of certain provisions of Punjab Act 8 of 1925.- The Sikh Gurdwaras Act, 1925 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), shall so far as it adds to or takes from the jurisdiction of the 4 [High Court of 5 (Punjab)] or prescribes the procedure of the said Court, be as valid as if it had been passed by the Indian Legislature. 4. Substituted for the words "High Court of Judicature of Lahore" by the India (Adaptation of Existing Laws) Order, 1947. 5. Substituted for "East Punjab" by Adaptation of Laws, Order, 1950.
SECTION 4

Repealed

The Sikh Gurdwaras (Supplementary) Act, 1925 2.
